Kirsty Negus

My name is Kirsty negus and I have been in the hairdressing industry for over 30 years. Initially a working hairdresser in a small town I entered many competitions and one of which I came 5^thin the UK for cut, colour and style. This led me onto the next chapter in my career because I won a scholarship and I have grown from strength to strength which has allowed me to improve myself and my standards. I worked for Regis Hair and beauty salons as a salon manager and then to general manager of a salon where I had responsibility for over 30 staff. Halfway through my career I changed direction to education and for the last 16 years I have worked for corporate, professional and consumer brands delivering and participating in education. I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the world’s best hairdressers and brands across the world, like Schwarzkopf Professional and Alfaparf Milano. This was how I met Karen and Richard who also had the same vision and passion as me.  This provided me with a solid basis for helping others to succeed and passing on the information I have learnt and alongside Richard and Karen this is how Spires Hairdressing Academy was born.

Knowledge is power but only if it is passed on and we love to share our knowledge with anyone who will listen. Join us and together we can help you make learning fun and creative.

Martha Pountain

My high work standards and skill levels gained with experience at senior levels of hairdressing allow me to make a rich contribution to my role as an Educator. I have worked in various roles including; on the salon floor, on the demonstration stage and in a corporate and public education setting. During my years at Vidal Sassoons, I had the opportunity to gain extensive experience, teaching in-house as Creative Director and also working on shows and seminars internationally.

In 2012, I opened my own salon to reinforce the connection between my teaching and working on the salon floor. More recently I have collaborated with DebbyGTraining, Schwarzkopf, Fudge and the Revlon London Fashion Week team.

Sara Barlow

Sara has a successful salon in the heart of Sheffield Centre winning many local awards! Sara has had a varied career over the last 30 years + both in salon and on an education platform, from small intimate sessions to large stage presentations all over the country.

Her true passion is education, specialising in both colour and hair up, she’s always looking for ways to pass on her knowledge in an uncomplicated way, always putting her delegates at ease.
